Stonewall happened in June.
On June 28, 1969, transgender women of color and drag queens led an uprising outside the Stonewall Inn in New York City. That night became the spark for the modern LGBTQIA2+ rights movement. For 56 years, the world has marked that anniversary every June. Asheville — one of the most progressive cities in the South — has never had a June Pride Fest like this. We're fixing that.
